What is S.W.I.M.?

It's an acronym for Saltwater Independent Music. This community is nationwide, with individually organized chapters throughout the country.
S.W.I.M. was formed in 2020 to support independent
singer / songwriters and other musicians through a network of fans and venues
What does S.W.I.M. do?

A. Local chapters help independent artists by:
*
1) Providing connections to venues (including house concerts) where they can perform. Artists who are traveling as part of a tour to promote their music can contact S.W.I.M clubs located along their tour path. S.W.I.M. chapters work with local venues (and house concerts) who feature live music, to help arrange those live shows in their area. The amount of help a local chapter can provide varies from area to area, depending on the length of time the chapter has been established, and by the overall number of connections the local chapter has.

2) Helping to promote those shows in their area, by utilizing an email list and social marketing to get the word out to listeners who have expressed a desire to hear and support original live music.

3) In some cases (not always), local chapters of S.W.I.M. are even able to provide short-term lodging for traveling artists

4) In some cases, local chapters can even provide spare audio or other equipment to the traveling artist for the performance in their area

5) In some cases, local chapters are able to put artists in contact with other musicians in their area, who can be of assistance in the designated performance

6) In short, a local chapter of S.W.I.M. can provide a short term support system and community for traveling artists while they are in that chapter's area
B. Local chapters help fans in their area who desire a variety of live original music by:

1) Working with local venues (including house concerts) to locate and set up communication with traveling artists who would be interested in performing in that chapter's local area
*
2) Providing show and tour information to local music enthusiasts and live music supporters with a combination of email list and social media contact
So, its really a simple two part system: helping artists with original music to get their music in front of fans who want it; and helping fans in their area who are seeking a variety of new music and artists to enjoy.
